Coastal living
The coast is an infinite world, the sea and the salt air,
sunshine if we are lucky enough. It engages all our senses and somehow heightens a
sense of well being, a sense of calm watching and listening to the waves lapping
on the shore, walking on the beach feeling the sand between your toes and the
cooling water washing away all the negativity whilst the sun warms your back.
I can sit for hours looking out to sea, watching my dog playing in the water, running up and down the beach, so happy.
And on the days when it is cold and windy, and
you are all wrapped up the salty sea wind blows the cobwebs a way, and somehow
makes you feel invigorated and focused.
To be able to be near the sea is truly wonderful, to lie
in bed and listen to the sea and smell the salt air, one day I shall go back to
live by the sea, until then I have my memories which I hold fondly,
especially the wonderful memories of walking on the beach with my late mother.
